A fully equipped children’s playground was installed at East Carron the following year.
To mark the occasion of his ten years as chairman of Carron Company in 1937 Francis Burder opened the park which was to take his name. It lay on the opposite side of the road from the company’s office block. This landscaped area had existed since the reconstruction of the works in 1880s and separated the works from the village of East Carron. Along the east side of the park was a road called Dawson Terrace.

In 1943 trees were planted in Burder Park to commemorate the years of service to Carron Company of FL Burder and George Pate applied for planning permission to build a supermarket and a 120-space car park there but it was turned down. However, a new road and roundabout were built along the line of Dawson Terrace connecting to Carron Road in Bainsford by a new bridge over the River Carron. In 1955 a small car park was inserted into Burder Park for the use of staff at Carron Works. Tennis courts were placed on the east side of Dawson Terrace and in the late 1950s part of the playground was used to construct a large sports pavilion.
However, when Carron Company closed in 1981 it was not long before the park and recreation ground were also lost. In 1993 Kwik Save boot sales and in 1996 another planning application was put forward for a petrol station and cinema/bingo hall. Soon afterwards the southern end of the park was incorporated into a housing development and named after the park, followed by Stewart Avenue.
