STANDBURN CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH

TIMELINE

1900, Nov: Formation.  D.H. Ritchie Snaddon had been appointed as the missionary for Standburn in 1898 and his progressive style made him popular in the village but not to the Avonbridge U.P. Church.  He was therefore dismissed and he set up the Standburn Congregational Church.  Iron building erected but the Congregational Church would not accept Snaddon as a trained minister.  He resigned the charge in February 1903.
