THE DUNIPACE BROOCH :  A silver Celtic pin from about the 9th Century discovered near Dunipace. The pin, which has a loose ring head once covered in gold, is similar to Irish brooches of the period but the use of silver marks this one out as Scottish and extremely rare. It is now in the National Museum of Scotland.
