TIMELINE

1543: Charter evidence.

St Helen’s Chapel with burial ground is mentioned by several antiquarians.  It is probably the same site referred to in the O.S.A.  at Seabegs, and as Chapel Hill elsewhere.

1739: Bonnymill said to have been built using stones from the decayed chapel.

1973: In 1973 when the community centre was being constructed a graveyard is said to have been found to its SW.
