Known locally as The Ash Park, it is a large park at the edge of Banknock. The park is bounded by houses to the west, the motorway to the east and the A803 road through Banknock to the north. The site slopes quite steeply up to the north, and up to the motorway embankment to the east. An all-weather football pitch was installed and opened in 1986. Amenities include sports and play areas, including a multi-use games area, a children’s play area and large expanses of grass. There is also a strip of mixed woodland on the northern border.
Unfortunately the park is also remembered for the death there in September 1974 of six year old George Philip who was killed when a steel goal support fell on him as he played. At the time the park was the responsibility of Stirlingshire Central No 2 district council.
