This park is really a recreation ground with a football pitch and a small wooded area approached along a long drive from off the Main Street in Polmont. Although not a formal park it is included in this list for completeness and because its name may lead to some confusion. The name is derived from that of a mansion house and its 89 acre estate, and indeed was also that of a local football team. The house was demolished in 1959 and the ground was subsequently sold off for housing – the road becoming “Polmont Park.” Part of the land was reserved for the recreation field which was laid out in the early 1970s.
