Princes Park, California

The small park at California was opened by Stirling County Council in 1934 and was named after Robert Prince who had advised on the laying out of recreation grounds, halls, and institutes in connection with over 150 Miners’ Welfare Schemes during the previous 11 years in Lanarkshire, Stirlingshire, West Lothian and Dumbartonshire, including six children’s playgrounds in the Falkirk district.  The park was essentially a football field.

The name is no longer used and is merely denoted as a recreation ground.  However, Princes Street lies nearby.
