A playing field was laid out behind the houses on the east side of Roman Road soon after its construction c1950. Alleys were formed to the park from the road beside the shop and the Seabegs Hall. There was no play equipment at that time. In 1953 the Central No 2 District council decided not to remove a large hillock on the site, but to level the entire field. This appears to have been done around May 1954 and when the topsoil was removed it revealed the Antonine Wall. No record was taken at the time.

The park is still a public open space and the grass is still cut by Falkirk Council, though it is far from salubrious and rubbish is dumped around its edges.
