Rumlie Park

In the 1960s a large county council housing scheme was built on the south-west side of the village of Slamannan and in 1964 the Rumlie fields were bought to serve this as a children’s playground.  The upper field, to the north was levelled and used as a football pitch, whilst the lower field adjacent to the Culloch Burn was used for walking.  At the west end of this stretch of the stream is a waterfall known as the Rumlie due to the sound it makes.

In the early 1980s the playing field was resurfaced with blaes and surrounded by a metal fence.  Funding to replace this was awarded late in 2021.  The lower slopes have become overgrown and provide a bio-diverse environment.  It had been envisaged that in 2021 funding would also be used to enhance the paths here.
