The valley of the How Burn which separates Larbert from Stenhousemuir is enclosed with trees providing pleasant walks along the well-made footpaths from the Carron lade in the south to the Main Street in the north. It houses several sets of playing fields laid out in the 1980s for football, including those of Stenhouse Athletic, partly sponsored by J Findlay Russell. It is not to be confused with the 1940s Russell Park in High Bonnybridge, the home of Bonnybridge Rose FC. The Larbert venue is still in use and in 2023 new changing rooms were added.
