This school is depicted on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map and described in the associated Name Book as :
“A private adventure school, situated on the second storey of a two storey building in Silver Row, and is rented for the purpose. Affords tuition in the elementary branches of an English education. Average attendance 50.”
It was on the east side of Silver Row diagonally opposite to the Masonic Arms. The building fronted the road and had little space for a playground.
