As pupils numbers increased the building was extended to the north-east by the addition of three classrooms in 2006. A temporary classroom was added in 2009. Up until then the general vicinity of the medieval motte which stood to the west of the school had been avoided, but when even further extension was necessary in 2014 the buildings approached much nearer. An archaeological excavation showed that most of the area to the west of the existing school structures had been disturbed by foundry buildings in the early 20th century, but part of the ditch of the outer bailey was found underneath. Likewise, the northern edge of the Roman Ditch was spotted under the extreme southern corner of the school buildings when new services were inserted there. Three classrooms were then added to the north-west and joined to the old ones by a link corridor. A new nursery was added to the north. The old nursery was then demolished and a new staff room, larger hall and kitchen added. Parts of the old school buildings were altered. This extensive work was completed in 2016. The following year a library was inserted.
