Falkirk Burgh covers the area of the town centre, Grahamston and Bainsford. The landward area of the parish includes Camelon, Bonnybridge and Laurieston, as well as a small area to the south of the town. The open moorland in this southern area provided a fair separation from neighbouring school boards as Slamannan and Polmont. However, there were issues over the attendance of scholars across borders and to the west Denny proved to be a major problem with many of its pupils attending schools in Bonnybridge. Further west Castlecary School was supplied by the Cumbernauld School Board.
