The datestone at Binniehill Farm was prominently placed over the lintel of an outbuilding, and in 2003 was incorporated into the façade of a new house near the apex. It has a roll moulded lower edge suggesting that it is from a lintel of a narrow door. The inscription reads “FEIR GOD/ GA.MN.16 20”.

The stone may have come from the old parish church, which was demolished in 1810. However, it would be unusual to have two sets of initials on an inscription from there. Indeed, we can be reasonably confident that GA is for George Arthur of Binniehill.
