A small bun-shaped quernstone was observed by G Bailey in a pile of stones beside the River Avon north of Easter Loanrig Farm in 1997. It measured about 0.4m in diameter and had a small central hole. By the time of a visit to make a fuller record a week later it had been removed.
Such quernstones are unusual in the Falkirk district, probably due to the imposition of feudal mills. The stone was probable of Iron Age date.
