High Stanerig Datestone

A door lintel in the old threshing barn at Haigh Stanerig bears the inscription: “17 IS ER 36”.  The inscription occurs on the east facing doorway towards the south end of the building. Part of this building was demolished in 2006 and the doorway blocked up.

The first initials are those of John Stark of Easter Jaw.
