As part of the creation and enhancement of the community woodland to the north of David’s Loan, east of Langlees, in the 1990s a number of features were installed including a wood henge and a ground sundial. The latter consisted of a series of brightly coloured plates set into the ground in a semicircle. Near the centre was a paving stone upon which the user stood to cast a shadow. These features did not weather well and were replaced in Corten steel around 2010.
