Planting Lint Mill

This mill is shown on the 1861 Ordnance Survey map located on the lade to the Denovan Bleachfield and was fed from the Anchor Burn.  In subsequent editions the lint mill is removed but the corn mill continues into the 1920s.  The fact that it did not utilise the same lade as the Planting Mill suggests that the lint mill pre-dated the corn mill.  It is not shown on Roy’s Great Map and probably dated to the 1780s.
