Dove Window(SMR832)

Wallacestone window(1) A small roundel window, high in the apex of the north gable of the church  depicts a descending dove, the Christian symbol of God’s Holy Spirit.

(2) Above the pulpit in the north gable of the church is a rectangular window.  The predominant colour of the lower window is blue.  It shows Jesus rising into a cloudy sky with his hands outstretched in blessing.  Two standing robed figures in the foreground gaze in awe. A third figure, wearing a green robe, kneels in worship.  It represents Christ’s Ascension to heaven after his Resurrection.

The dedication on the bottom reads “TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF/ MARGARET SMITH/ BORN 24 FEBRUARY 1868/ DIED 20 MARCH 1964/ GIFTED BY HER DAUGHTER ELIZABETH”.
