Planning permission for a new primary school in the recently erected housing on the lands of Nether Mains Farm in the western suburbs of Denny was granted in 1972 and the school opened a year later. It is flat roofed and, being built on a hillside, is of two storeys to the south and one to the north. The roughcast walls have little relief and the only interesting feature is the use of a continuous thin band of clerestory windows.
After the closure of the old primary school in Duke Street some of its pupils were transferred to Nethermains in 1990.
