The 1920s were the highpoint in the presentation of floral displays in the cemeteries of the area. At Denny and Dunipace Cemetery the recently erected war memorial on one of the knolls formed a centrepiece and in 1925 the cemetery keeper, Mr Paterson, created a floral sundial which attracted much acclaim. It was so well received that it was recreated over the following ten years.
