The Lairox Inn Sundial, Dunipace (S5)

Although the public Inn at Dunipace, known variously as the Lairox, the Red Hoose and McCabe’s, was rebuilt in the 19th century, it incorporates earlier inscribed stones.  These include a marriage lintel dated 1722 and a sundial which appear to have been more or less contemporary.  The latter is placed on the gable tabling at the west end of the building beside the road where it can be seen by travellers.  It has two dials, one facing south and the other to the west.
