Falkirk Tryst Golf Club
In 1923 a war memorial tablet designed by J G Callander was placed on the outside wall on the north-west corner of the Falkirk Tryst Golf Clubhouse facing the first tee. The bronze tablet bearing the 19 names of the club members who died in the Great War was attached to a red freestone base executed by JJ and P McLachlan. It is surmounted by the club motto “Far and Sure” and the dates “1914-1919.” The main inscription reads: “To the Glorious Memory of the members of this club who laid down their lives in the Great War.” The lower border of the plate bears the words “They played the Game.”
