Cadgers Brae Shell Midden

A possible shell midden was identified by Derek Sloan.  It was first suggested by a shell sample and a photograph in Falkirk Museum.  An oyster shell said to be from this midden was dated by radiocarbon to 5130 BC.

No oyster shells were found immediately to the west at the Klondyke Garden Centre when the car park was extended in this direction in the early 21st century.
