In 1787 James Barrie of Thomaston feued parts of Bankier described as “Meadow, part of Easter Hollandbush, Lintmill” (Reid 2004 73). No other mention of this mill has been found but it is possible that the oddly elongated pond at the south-east extremity of the grounds of Banknock House had its origins in the mill pond.
