The Middle School system for Grangemouth was fully implemented in 1975. Using this system, S3-S6 pupils attended Grangemouth High School, P6-P7 and S1-S2 pupils attended Moray Middle School or Abbotsgrange Middle School and P1-P5 pupils attended the various Primary schools. Within the Middle schools the years were re-designated M1-M4. The system was abandoned in 1988 and the school was converted to a primary school.
